Traverse City is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Traverse City follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. Cooks house was exceptional. My wife and I had disclosed we were out to celebrate our anniversary and a successful medical procedure, and the amount of service, empathy, and generosity the Cook’s House staff showed us was overwhelming. The food is incredible, but the people that operate it are the greatest form of human souls. Thank you for the unforgettable night and making us a memory we’ll talk about for years. ❤️

I was a bit nervous that I would feel out of place at first…fine dining…but they have a come as you are clothing policy. The waitress/waitre felt real chill and even joked around. Once the appetizer arrives, all worry melts away and you simply enjoy the tastes of each course. We even enjoyed some friendly conversation with the table next to us. I’d definitely be interested in coming back to see what their menu rotation offers. Thank you Chefs House for a pleasant evening.

Unforgettable experience. I came in with high expectations and they exceeded them in every way. Every bite was incredible and the wine pairings made me enjoy them all the more. Everyone we interacted with there was wonderful and added to the amazing experience. If I ever get the chance again I'll absolutely be back. Thank you for providing my wife and I an anniversary we'll never forget

Best meal of our lives. Dinner at The Cook’s House, a small 22-seat restaurant that is hard to get into during peak season, felt special right from the start. We were greeted with warm towels scented with essential oils, which instantly made us slow down, then a glass of bubbly that set the tone for the whole night. The bread came out warm from Common Good Bakery with soy butter, and honestly, I could have been happy just sitting there with that for a while. The amuse bouche surprised me in the best way. Shaved watermelon radishes and sauerkraut gently warmed in butter. It doesn’t sound like it should work, but it absolutely did. Bright, earthy, and perfectly balanced. Then came the bite I will never forget. Oyster mushrooms in cream sauce over toasted sourdough. Silky, deeply savory, and comforting. Total stop talking moment. Wayne ordered the linguine appetizer. W went with the walleye with masoor dal and tadka, delicate and clean but still warm and flavorful. I had the hanger steak with fingerling potatoes and onions three ways, soubise, roasted, and pickled. Rich, tender, and deeply satisfying without being heavy. Dessert wrapped it all up gently. Sour cream ice cream wi

Adorable tiny restaurant with tons of staff to serve you. We were greeted with champagne as I had reserved for our anniversary. We had the tasting menu with the wine pairing. Every course was very good. The steak and the dessert were our favorites but the beet salad was a surprisingly high ranked course. The wine pairings were also nice, some of the pours were a little small but it was a tasting so that may be the reason. I would recommend and hope to return. Book far in advance as reservations are limited.
